Purple Haze Cloud Tea

There’s nothing more pleasing than a cup of lilac purple tea with a big foam on top to start your day. This tea is made with Hibiscus flowers, which dyes the water a dark red color, then changes to a beautiful purple once the milk is added.

Fun Facts About Hibiscus

Hibiscus is a very popular flower to be made as tea in many parts of the world and is often consumed for medicinal purposes. Since Hibiscus tea is herbal, it contains no caffeine. However, it helps regulate good gut health, reduce blood sugars, and contains antioxidants which are compounds that fight against body imbalances.

There are hundreds of varieties of the Hibiscus flower, commonly and most beloved in tropical climates. They come in different colors such as pink, red, and yellow. Hibiscus sabdariffa is the variant commonly used as tea, which has a rich red bud and big white petals. Another word for it is “roselle” and is translated to many names in many languages.
